Welcome to Class 4 – Year 1 and Year 2
Welcome to our class page! Our class is taught by Miss Hobson and Mrs Bowler.
We are a happy, hard working class who love to learn through exciting, hands-on activities and creative topics.
In our class, we build on the skills we have already learnt and continue to grow in confidence as readers, writers, and mathematicians. We also enjoy exploring the world around us through science, history, geography, art, design and technology, computing and French.
Most importantly, we work together as a team, always being kind, respectful, and ready to try our best every day.
Year 1 children will be working towards their Phonics Screening Check in the summer. With lots of practise throughout the year, the children will be well-prepared.
To help your child gain more confidence with their reading and develop a love of books, we encourage the children to read every night with an adult. It is also so important to share bedtime stories with your child. Reading stimulates creativity and exposes the children to rich language.
Spellings, Maths and all other homework will be sent home each Friday and should be returned to school the following Thursday.
P.E. will be taught on a Thursday and Friday. Please ensure P.E. kits are brought into school on a Monday ready for the week ahead.
