Children in Classes 1, 2 and 3 have all enjoyed their autumn walks. It was great to see how the season has changed and all of the lovely colours that we can see in nature. We even collected some leaves, twigs and acorns to make our very own autumn art back at class. It was great to spend the day on the sunshine with our friends and family.
We celebrated the Harvest today in a lovely liturgy prepared by our Mini Vinnies. They used the CAOFD resources- βBrighten Upβ. We collected donations of food which we will give to the local Foodbank and to Mrs.Frankland so she can help refugees in Thornaby. We thanked God for all that He has given to us and prayed for those who have little-especially those in El Salvador.
Itβs that time of the year where the fruit in our school allotment is ready pick- and to eat yum yum! We went out to pick some of our apples and plums from the trees there. After that we made the most delicious fruit crumble and best of all we got to taste it too! We didnβt forget the custard either!
Today we said our Goodbyes to our much loved priest, Fr.Michael Keogh. He has been part of our school family for the last 16 years. He has shared both many happy and some sad times with us over the years. He has loved us, made us smile but most important of all has brought us closer to Jesus and made us better people and helped us grow. He will always remain in our hearts as we wish him well in his new parish in Northallerton. Thank you Father and God bless you in all that you do.
Today we had a very special visitor in school all the way from Australia- John Burland. We love to sing Johnβs songs in school and use them in our RE lessons so it was great to meet John and join in a live concert in our school hall. Some parishioners also joined us to join in the celebrations. We also learned some new songs from John.
Mrs.Sims and our wonderful choir joined the children from βThe Pearl of Africaβ choir. At St.Patrickβs College. On the evening a fantastic performance took place in school, which was open to members of the community. The event raised close to Β£2000, which will support the work of the charity in providing education for poor and orphaned children in Uganda.
A walk for World Alzheimerβs Day and to celebrate Older Peopleβs Day.
On Sunday 1st October a large group of children, parents, grandparents and teachers from St Patrickβs joined with Cleveland Alzheimerβs Society for a special walk to raise awareness for those people that are learning how to live with dementia.
With the rain just being held at bay the walkers set off from the Tees Barrage on a circular route that progressed along the River Tees, over Infinity Bridge and back along the river. At the end of the walk the children enjoyed a mini picnic by the barrage; a well-deserved drink of juice and a packet of crisps.
A lovely way to spend a Sunday morning.

Last Sunday, 10th September, a large group of pupils, parents, grandparents and staff attended a service to remember the brave RAF servicemen that gave their lives for our country in the Second World War.
The service was held at the RAF pilot statue on Thornaby Road at 12.30pm and was attended by members of the public, ex-servicemen, local dignitaries such as the Mayor of Stockton and pupils from our school!
The children from St Patrickβs were very respectful and joined in all the prayers and hymns. At the end of the service two of our pupils laid a wreath made from poppies at the foot of the statue.
The service was very moving and poignant β a particular highlight was the playing of βThe Last Postβ and the subsequent silence in honour of the brave men that had died in the war.
The children and staff at St Patrickβs appreciate the sacrifices that many men made for us. We will remember themβ¦in our prayers.
Last Monday, the whole of Year 6 went to βCrucial Crewβ in Billingham. βCrucial Crewβ is a multi-agency safety event for children aged 10-11 years old.
Whilst it was a lot of fun and an exciting event, the serious messages about personal safety and dealing with emergencies were strongly conveyed.
During the visit we were given lots of useful advice and information from Stockton Police, SBC Road Safety Team, Cleveland Fire Brigade, Northern Gas Networks, Northern Electric and The Anti-Social Behaviour Team.
We would like to thank all those involved for giving us such important advice in a fun way!
