Mrs.Sims and our wonderful choir joined the children from “The Pearl of Africa” choir. At St.Patrick’s College. On the evening a fantastic performance took place in school, which was open to members of the community. The event raised close to £2000, which will support the work of the charity in providing education for poor and orphaned children in Uganda.
A team of Year 4 engineers visited the Future Engineers Exhibition at the Stadium of Light. They found out about the many different jobs that involve engineering. They met men and women that told them all about their world of work. A great day out enjoyed by all.
A walk for World Alzheimer’s Day and to celebrate Older People’s Day.
On Sunday 1st October a large group of children, parents, grandparents and teachers from St Patrick’s joined with Cleveland Alzheimer’s Society for a special walk to raise awareness for those people that are learning how to live with dementia.
With the rain just being held at bay the walkers set off from the Tees Barrage on a circular route that progressed along the River Tees, over Infinity Bridge and back along the river. At the end of the walk the children enjoyed a mini picnic by the barrage; a well-deserved drink of juice and a packet of crisps.
A lovely way to spend a Sunday morning.

Last Sunday, 10th September, a large group of pupils, parents, grandparents and staff attended a service to remember the brave RAF servicemen that gave their lives for our country in the Second World War.
The service was held at the RAF pilot statue on Thornaby Road at 12.30pm and was attended by members of the public, ex-servicemen, local dignitaries such as the Mayor of Stockton and pupils from our school!
The children from St Patrick’s were very respectful and joined in all the prayers and hymns. At the end of the service two of our pupils laid a wreath made from poppies at the foot of the statue.
The service was very moving and poignant – a particular highlight was the playing of ‘The Last Post’ and the subsequent silence in honour of the brave men that had died in the war.
The children and staff at St Patrick’s appreciate the sacrifices that many men made for us. We will remember them…in our prayers.
Last Monday, the whole of Year 6 went to ‘Crucial Crew’ in Billingham. ‘Crucial Crew’ is a multi-agency safety event for children aged 10-11 years old.
Whilst it was a lot of fun and an exciting event, the serious messages about personal safety and dealing with emergencies were strongly conveyed.
During the visit we were given lots of useful advice and information from Stockton Police, SBC Road Safety Team, Cleveland Fire Brigade, Northern Gas Networks, Northern Electric and The Anti-Social Behaviour Team.
We would like to thank all those involved for giving us such important advice in a fun way!
