Welcome to Class 8.

Thank you for visiting our class page.

We are ready for an exciting year in Class 8, we are now in Year 4 and are responsible KS2 children. Our teacher this year is Mr Barber and our teaching assistants are Mrs Presgrave and Mrs Barber. We are especially looking forward to being role models for our younger friends. Our maths and English topics are going to be fun and challenging, and we are aiming to try to produce our best work in each lesson.

Our aim in Class 8 is to make sure that every child gets the support that they need and that everyone enjoys the different parts of the curriculum. We have created our own class rules and have decided that we are going to try our best this year to make sure everyone in the class is happy.

We are encouraged to complete more of our work independently. We have to try to think for ourselves and remember all of our own things, like our bag and PE kit. We enjoy celebrating achievement in our class. We will be working with parents and carers to recognise our hard work and effort in academic work and spiritual life in school. At the end of this year, the children will be doing the national statutory times tables test.

Please keep checking our page and newsletters for any further information. This year PE is on a Tuesday.

God bless.

Wonderful things happen in Class 8…

We are children of God…

We celebrate and pray each day. We know that God is always with us and that He is by our side. We plan our own prayers to say when we spend time with God.

We are writers…

We have been trying to improve our writing by using a dictionary to find more powerful vocabulary.

We are scientists…

In our Science topic we have been learning all about animals and humans. When we were investigating the different teeth animals have, we wondered how big a lion actually is. We found out that it is really tall!

We are musicians…

We have been learning to sing Mamma Mia and have started to add musical accompaniments using glockenspiels.

We are artists…

We have been copying the work of Georgina Westley to create line drawings. We are going to create our own line drawing of a Viking scene.

We are designers…

Our computing topic this term is to design and build a city. We started thinking of buildings that we could make and using lego to plan the size of the walls.

We then moved on to using iPad apps to build the city.

We are explorers…

To start our History and Geography work this term we made a timeline of important events from the past. One problem – the dates were hidden on our orienteering course! We used our map reading skills to find the dates and put them in order.
