Welcome to Class 7 – Live Life to the Full!
In Class 7, we are all in Year 3. Year 3 is the start of Key Stage 2!
This year is a very important year for us, as many of us will be making our First Holy Communion or receiving a special blessing!
As with every year, we will be striving to do our best, as we work and play throughout the school day and we will always be guided by God.
PE takes place every Tuesday and Thursday, however PE sessions may sometimes change, so please ensure PE kits are brought to school on a Monday and kept in school until Friday, before being taken home at the weekend.
Art lessons will take place every week and we would ask that you bring in an old t-shirt to be used during these sessions. This can be left in school.
Our Class 7 newsletter gives details on the interesting things we will be focusing on each term. If you have any questions, or ideas please come and talk to one of us at the end of the school day. Many thanks for your support.
We have been busy sorting out our Class Representatives. Everyone has different talents and it was so hard to work out who would do what. Our Class Reps will be taking all our wonderful ideas to share with the other reps. They will be bringing back ideas from different classes. They will be extremely busy, but we know they are ready for the responsibility.
Father in heaven I give you today,
All that I think or do or say,
My ears to hear, my eyes to see,
My hands, my feet and all of me…
We have learnt how to use maps of the playground to find certain points where information was hidden. We are getting good and reading the key and locating different areas of the playground. We all managed to locate all of the different points. It was a lot of fun!
We do a lot of sport in our school. These two children will be representing our school along with others in the Stockton Schools Cross country competition!
Science is taught each week and it is very practical. This term we are learning about animals including humans.
We always welcome visitors into our class. This advent we were joined for one of our Collective Worships by a teacher from a different school. We were also visited by Dr Paul Williams and spent a little time discussing our concerns about the future!
The chocolate game was the most fun!
We made out Advent wreath and each day we spent some time listening to the prayers that we had written and talking about Hope, Love, Peace and Joy. We were preparing!
Lord help us to live as one…
Holocaust Memorial Day
We have been praying for acceptance around the world. We are longing for a fairer world for everyone. We wrote individual prayers which we shared during collective worship.
Christmas Party fun
We played a memory game, which was hard! Congratulations to our winners. We enjoyed pinning the glasses on Mr Conwell and pass the parcel!
We are enjoying learning French especially with the help of our French-speaking member of the class! We are learning to say the different things in class in French too.
Design and Technology
We have designed and made our own Synagogues. Come and see them on display in our classroom. It was a lot of fun making them and now we know a lot more about this important place of worship.
Each week or fortnight we look at a new text. Can you guess what we have been studying this week?
We use iPads to find out a lot of information. Here we are finding out about Roald Dahl.
European Languages Day
We enjoyed finding out all about Spain. We learnt how to speak a little Spanish and we tasted some European foods. We want to be part of ONE WORLD! We feel that everyone, no matter what country they are from, should be treated in the same way.
We have spent time finding out about WW1 and the soldiers who fought hard to bring peace to the world. We remembered all those who have died!
We are learning about Baptism!
GUIDED BY THE WORD OF OUR LORD
We work together,
We play together,
We laugh together,
We pray together,
We help each other,
To be our best,
We are God’s children,
We are blessed!
Design and Technology
We have been designing and making sandwiches this week. We chose which bread we wanted to use and decided on what we wanted to put inside. Together we have thought about healthy choices. We had fun creating our designs although we found cutting cheese very difficult!!
Hopefully, we will all be trying out some of our healthy sandwiches at home!
Called to Serve during Advent
We went into the community and brought joy to the residents of Mandale care home and Meadowfield care home by singing Christmas carols. They brought a lot of joy to us too.
We looked at and then designed and made some beautiful Nativity scenes using pastels.
We’ve been learning about Ancient Egypt and during Disconnect to Reconnect week, we made some Egyptian puppets!
We made Egyptian bread!
We learnt a lot from things that children brought in to show and talk about!
